BW BLADES NEWSLETTER
JUNE 2007

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT:
To Blades families:
Although it is summertime the hockey season doesn't end. Between camps and continuous fund-raising it seems that in the summer we don't get a reprieve. Please remember the "Volunteer Hours" that were instituted for the upcoming year. We have several events this summer that you can apply those hours towards.
The Fireworks stands will opening the end of June and we need allot of volunteers to help man 2 locations. Please check with Aaron Mormon for the schedule. This can be a bigger fundraiser if we can get more hours filled with volunteers.
We are grilling hamburgers and hot dogs at Jawaski Glass every Wed for the summer from 11-1 and we need volunteers for that also. Please let me know if you are interested in helping with that. Call me at 643-8120.
The Golf Tourney is set for July 26th. Please mark all of your calendars for this event. If you are not golfing we can use the help in any capacity you would like to help with. Again all the hours can go towards your volunteer hours, (not if you are golfing though).
The Fall Ice Breaker is in Sept and we really need volunteers for that event. Please call Kim Chase if you have any questions.
In order to keep fees down we must fundraise. I would hate to see us drive the price of hockey to a point where we can't afford to play so please help, don't wait to be asked to help step up to the plate. We need all the families to help make our program successful.
I hope all players are doing something this summer, be it some stick handling or even make the mistake of going to a Sioux hockey camp...hey just kidding, just seeing if anyone is reading this. Have a great summer and hope to see all of you at an event this summer.
Steve Neppl

ATTENTION BW BLADES HOCKEY FAMILIES
In an effort to raise money for our hockey association we are asking you to please donate all empty/used inkjet and laser cartridges as well as old cell phones. Cartridges and phones can be collected from home, work, friends or neighbors. This will allow our association to raise much needed funds as well as protecting the environment. Cartridges should be placed in zip lock bags or wrapped in cellophane to prevent leakage.
The drop off point for this project will be located in the upstairs area of the Stern’s Sports Arena, next to the concession stand, in the box designated for this purpose. The box will not be at the Arena until September so please put your cartridges aside and save them for our collection. If you have any questions please contact Michele Bring at 701-642-5667.
Thank you for your support of the
BW Blades Hockey Association.
